New York Knicks Owner Moves One Step Closer to New York Rangers Spinoff

Bloomberg (08/14/26) Williams, Randall Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. announced late last week it is proceeding with its plan to split the NBA's New York Knicks and the NHL's New York Rangers. The company, which expects the spinoff to be complete by Oct. 31, has filed a public registration statement for the new Rangers company with the SEC. James Dolan has agreed to serve as executive chair and CEO of both the Knicks and Rangers companies following the split. MSG Sports will become MSG Knickerbockers Corp. and be made up of the Knicks and the Westchester Knicks, its G-league affiliate team. The newly created company MSG Rangers Corp. will be comprised of the Rangers, the Hartford Wolf Pack and the MSG Training Center. Read the full story from  Bloomberg .
