
Bills to Replace Grass at New Stadium Ahead of Season Opener

Reuters (08/30/26) The Buffalo Bills have announced they will install a new grass field at their new, $2.2 billion stadium after the original field was unable to handle the rigors of an NFL game during an Aug. 15 preseason exhibition against the Carolina Panthers. The first regular-season game at the new venue is scheduled for Sept. 17, with the Bills hosting the Detroit Lions. Pete Guelli, Bills president of business operations, issued an official statement that read: "With a stretch of three consecutive home games early in the season, we decided it was the appropriate time to re-sod our field."
